Located in southwestern Uganda, The Park is lush, mist-covered rainforest that shelters more than half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. This UNESCO-listed park, offers unforgettable gorilla trekking experience, with multiple habituated gorilla families available for visit.

The Buhoma sector (north) is the most popular base, featuring varied accommodations and easy access to the park headquarters.

While Nkuringo (south), home to luxury stays like Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge, provides a more secluded experience with different gorilla families to track. Adventurous travelers can hike through the forest between these areas for a deeper wilderness experience.

For the best experience, we recommend staying 2–3 nights and doing two treks—one to capture the moment, another to truly immerse yourself in it. Permits cost $700 per person per trek and should be booked well in advance, especially between June and September. Treks vary from one hour to a full day, with one magical hour spent in the presence of gorillas.

Beyond trekking, Bwindi offers guided nature walks, cultural experiences, and visits to the Batwa community. The park is accessible by an 8–10 hour drive from Entebbe (with optional stopovers at Lake Mburo or Queen Elizabeth National Park), or a short bush flight for those on tighter schedules.
