Rwanda Gorilla – Home to Mountain Gorillas

Seeing mountain gorillas moving around the area and carrying out their daily activities is no less than a fantastic sight. Rwanda is known to be the home of several mountain gorillas. Interestingly, Rwanda is the smallest city in the East African region occupying only 10,169 square miles. For this beautiful dwarfed region, animal conservation is a big priority. Therefore, several steps are being taken to ensure gorilla safety in Rwanda.

Natural Habitat of Wild Gorillas

The volcanic range spanning Rwanda, Uganda, and the Republic of Congo is a natural locale to the mountain gorillas. Trekking over the hills and finding gorillas is relatively easy in Rwanda. Rwanda's government has taken several measures to ensure the protection of the natural habitat.

Gorilla Families in Volcanoes National Park

Being a hub to the gorillas, more than twelve gorilla families live in the Volcanoes National Park. All these families can easily found in the park, with a few more are solely for some research purposes.

Every day, visitors gather to view and experience the beauty of naturally habited mountain gorillas in the Rwanda reserves. Each group of Rwanda gorillas can contact the tourists for as long as one hour strictly.

Rwanda Gorillas Face Climate Challenges

Not only the people in Rwanda but the gorillas also have to face climate changes every year. In the northern areas, the mountain gorillas are forced to live in the higher regions where access to food sources and vegetation is limited. This issue still needs adequate consideration.
